Cooperative Agreement for affiliated Partner with Great Basin Cooperative Ecosystem Studies Unit: The USGS Nevada Water Science Center is offering a funding opportunity to a CESU partner for research on improving discharge measurements and streamgage operations in the South Elko field area. As new streamgaging technologies emerge and the need to apply operational efficiencies increases, the USGS aims to identify solutions that are effective in extremely remote and hydrologically dynamic watersheds. This project offers extensive hands-on hydrologic fieldwork experience paired with an analytical research component that will contribute directly to USGS data quality, operational efficiency, and basin understanding.
