Cooperative Ecosystem Studies Unit, Great Lakes Northern Forests CESU: US Geological Survey is offering a funding opportunity to a CESU Partner for research that quantifies relations between fish growth and production and changes in water temperatures for lakes in the Midwest. In addition, the research should produce models to quantify changes in water temperatures based on predicted future climate scenarios, identify threats to fish growth and production, and develop adaptive management strategies to maintain sustainable fish populations that are resilient to changes in climate. This project will advance understanding of changes in fish growth and production in response to changing climate and will present information that is timely, relevant to resource managers, and needed to develop and implement sound adaptive management approaches. This research also will help identify future science opportunities for the Midcontinent Climate Adaptation Science Center (MC CASC) to pursue.
