Cooperative Ecosystem Studies Unit, Great Rivers CESU: US Geological Survey is offering a funding opportunity to a CESU partner to provide through the FGDC GeoCloud Platform the capability to query any given geospatial polygon in the United States and its possessions and territories, for both documented taxon occurrence checklists and model derived checklists. The model derived checklists will provide a list of taxa that are not currently documented in Biodiversity Information Serving Our Nation (BISON) ¿ bison.usgs.ornl.gov, for the given area but that would be expected to persist there if present based on environmental conditions. Options will be available to retrieve potential taxa for the area under both current and future predicted climate conditions as affected by global climate change. Occurrence data for models will be from or equivalent to the current data set in BISON. The Open Modeler platform will be employed with configurations consistent with the current Lifemapper and Lifemapper+ projects at University of Kansas.
