Cooperative Ecosystem Studies Units: A NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD is issued by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service to University of Nevada, Reno according to 505 DM 2.14 B(4)see attached NOI). NO COMPETITION IS EXPECTED. PLEASE DO NOT APPLY. This agreement is being implemented to provide funding to partner with scientists at University of Nevada, Reno (UNR) to develop products in support of landscape-scale conservation planning for golden eagles in the western US. Funds will be used to develop ecoregional conservation assessments and associated strategies for management of golden eagles in the west. This project will entail assembling published and unpublished information and analyzing data relevant to and necessary for development of these products. UNR scientists may also recruit and engage additional funding partners to further leverage expertise and funding from the Western Golden Eagle Team (WGET) and the Service. Funding is authorized by the Fish and Wildlife Coordination Act, 16 U.S.C. Sections 661-666c.

- The Cooperative Ecosystem Studies Units Network: consists of colleges and universities, including but not limited to Land Grant schools, nongovernmental conservation organizations, state and local governments, and federally recognized American Indian tribal governments, in partnership with Federal natural resource and scientific agencies. State and local governments, federally recognized American Indian tribal governments, public/private nonprofit organizations, nonprofit institutions of higher education, and individuals. Applicant entity must have expertise in the contemplated scientific research, technical assistance, information dissemination, and educational functions within the context of cultural, social, biological, and physical sciences as applicable to resource management.
