Development, Coordination, and Monitoring of Fish Habitat Projects in the Methow Subbasin: Reclamation seeks the assistance of qualified Project Sponsors to coordinate and development of new and proposed salmon and steelhead habitat improvement projects in the Methow Subbasin. Sponsors will assist Reclamation by preparing grant applications and securing grant funding for project implementation; perform landowner and community outreach; develop permit applications and packages; coordinate meeting attendance and site visits with local, state and Federal permitting entities; provide consultation and advice on project features; provide assistance to identified lead Federal agencies for the application of the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) and the National Historic Preservation Act (NHPA) requirements; and provide follow-up evaluation and monitoring of project performance. Projects take place on state and private lands and benefit the public by improving habitat conditions for threatened and endangered fish species, improving irrigation efficiencies, upgrading road crossing to improve fish passage. Projects also provide local jobs benefiting the local economy in the Methow Valley.
