Development of Influenza Sureveillance Networks: CDCs Procurement and Grants Office has published a request for application announcement entitled, Development of Influenza Surveillance Networks. $100,000,000 [this amount is an estimate, and subject to the availability of funds] will be available in fiscal year 2005 to fund approximately five to ten awards. The purpose of the program is to provide support and assistance to foreign governments for the development or improvement of influenza surveillance networks. Applications may be submitted by foreign governments through their Ministries of Health or other national government offices responsible for disease surveillance in humans. Only one application per country will be accepted. Applicants in countries that were funded last year under CDC Program Announcement #04106 are not eligible to apply under this new Program Announcement.
