DoD Neurosensory and Rehabilitation Research Award: The goal of the Defense Medical Research and Development Program (DMRDP) is to advance the state of medical science in those areas of most pressing need and relevance to todays battlefield experience. The Clinical and Rehabilitative Medicine Research Program (CRMRP) is one of six major program areas within the DMRDP The CRMRP mission is to focus on definitive and rehabilitative care innovations required to reset our wounded warriors, both in terms of duty performance and quality of life.
The Psychological Health/Traumatic Brain Injury Research Program (PH/TBIRP) mission is to establish, fund, and integrate both individual and multiagency research efforts that will lead to improved prevention, detection, and treatment of PH/TBI. The vision of the PH/TBIRP is to prevent, mitigate, and treat the effects of traumatic stress and traumatic brain injury on function, wellness, and overall quality of life for Service Members as well as their caregivers and families.
The FY14/15 CRMRP Neurosensory and Rehabilitation Research Award (NSRRA) is intended to support both applied (preclinical) research and clinical trials addressing TBI within specific Focus Areas of pain management, hearing loss/dysfunction, balance disorders, tinnitus, vision, or physical rehabilitation. It is the responsibility of the Principal Investigator (PI) to select the appropriate research modality, applied or clinical trial, for their project.
