DoD Ovarian Cancer Academy Dean and Assistant Dean (Leadership) Award: The OCRP Ovarian Cancer Academy Award mechanism, which was initially created in FY09, is a unique, interactive virtual academy providing intensive mentoring, national networking, collaborations, and a peer group for junior faculty. The overarching goal of the Ovarian Cancer Academy (OCA) is to develop successful, highly productive ovarian cancer researchers in a collaborative research and career development environment. The OCA is a virtual career development and research training platform that currently consists of 13 Early-Career Investigator (ECI)/Designated Mentor pairs from different institutions, and one Academy Dean and one Assistant Dean. Three ECIs will be graduating in the fall of FY19 and three FY18 OCA-ECI/Designated Mentor awards will be made by September 2019. In addition, eight have Academy graduates continue to participate in the annual Academy meetings.
