Expanding Education Innovation: This is NOT a request for applications. This is an announcement that NPS has already entered into an agreement with the National Writing Project, Inc., for their work on Expanding Education Innovation. Specifically, the NWP will: 1. Use financial assistance provided by NPS to complete projects described in this task agreement and Attachment A. 2. Provide a liaison to the NPS who will coordinate planning, collaboration with sites and parks, and communication amongst the participants. 3. Assist NPS representatives with matching university based NWP sites with local national park units and award 7 NWP partnership grants to facilitate place-based student/teacher workshops that promote literacy in all forms at the 7 National Parks in the Northeast Region selected for this program. 4. Collaborate with NPS staff on selecting 7 teachers to receive teacher-leader stipends to facilitate the workshops described in this Task Agreement and Attachment A. 5. Collaborate closely with the NPS on the development of web based platform for the sharing of information amongst parks staff, NWP sites, teachers and other informal education institutions such as museums, arboretums, historic sites, etc. Web base. 6. Collaborate with NPS staff on publicizing student/teacher workshops and learning opportunities, and, use their network of contacts with local school districts to assist in their publicity of these activities. 7. Collaborate with NPS on developing material for, and presenting information at, student/teacher workshops. 8. Collaborate with NPS on producing and facilitating at least one educational webinar about the changes in education and the move towards connected learning as a model. 9. Leading a learning session a session at the NWP Annual Meeting on November 20, 2014, focused on the NPS/NWP partnership.
