FY 06 Children's Justice Act Partnerships for Indian Communities: The purpose of this grant program is to assist AI/AN communities in developing, establishing, and operating programs to improve the investigation, prosecution, and overall handling of cases of child abuse, child sexual abuse and severe physical abuse, in a manner that increases support for and lessens additional trauma to the child victim. The funding will support the development and implementation of comprehensive child abuse programs and child sensitive policies and procedures for addressing child abuse cases in the tribes criminal justice and child protection service systems.
