FY 2010 Funding Opportunity Announcement for NGO Programs Benefiting Refugees in Ethiopia and Kenya: Programs will benefit refugees in Ethiopia and Kenya. While PRM encourages activities that include the local host population, NGOs should concentrate on care/maintenance activities for refugees in a camp environment. At least 50% of beneficiaries must be refugees. Proposals may focus on protection, health (including support for disabled persons), water, sanitation, shelter, community services, psychosocial support, prevention of and response to gender-based violence, and livelihoods development (including education) and training.PRM will give priority to proposals from organizations that can demonstrate:- a working relationship with UNHCR, current UNHCR funding, and/or a letter of support from UNHCR for the proposed activities and/or overall country program (this letter should highlight the gap in services the proposed program is designed to address);- a proven track record in providing proposed assistance both in the country (Ethiopia and Kenya) and in the sector;- evidence of coordination with the host government, international organizations (IOs) and NGOs working in the same area or sector. [Note: PRM will share budget and project activity information with appropriate ministries, local officials, and other USG entities];- Appropriate targeting of beneficiaries in coordination with UNHCR and other relevant organizations.Adherence to relevant international standards for humanitarian assistance.
