Fort Huachuca Army Compatible Use Buffer Program: MICC-FSH announces a potential partnering opportunity for the Fort Huachuca Army Compatible Use Buffer (ACUB) program. The successful applicant will, after coordinating with Fort Huachuca encroachment planners and natural resource managers, negotiate the purchase of easements or fee simple property (perpetual real property interests) from willing landowners. The entire project plan encompasses approximately 3,253,988 acres (~ 5,084 sq. miles) within three ACUB Priority Areas near Fort Huachuca in Cochise, Santa Cruz, and Pima Counties, Arizona. The goal within this project area is protection of approximately 74,068 acres in addition to the ~16,000 already protected.
