Management of Asthma in Primary Care - Bioinformatics Center (U24 - Clinical Trial Required - Infrastructure): The purpose of this Funding Opportunity Announcement is to identify and then prospectively evaluate the effectiveness of current practices used by primary healthcare providers to manage patients with asthma. The study will use electronic health record systems to generate and test paradigms for how to best manage asthma in the primary healthcare setting. The Cooperative Agreement awarded through this FOA will support a Clinical Center, which will have primary responsibility for study management, data collection, and conduct of clinical trials. The Clinical Center will work collaboratively with a Bioinformatics Center, funded separately, which will have primary responsibility for data analytical aspects of the study. Overall, the study is intended to identify "best practices", and thereby inform future clinical decisions by primary healthcare providers who care for patients with asthma.
