Manhattan, Nevada Wildland Urban Interface (WUI) Project NDF Woodland Thinning: This Funding Announcement is not a request for applications. This announcement is to provide public notice of the Bureau of Land Management's intention to fund the following project activities without full and open competition. This project is a continuation and was originally developed by the BLM/USFS/ and Manhattan Chapter of the Nevada Firesafe Council for the protection of life-safety, private property, community infrastructure and associated cultural-historic resources. The Town of Manhattan is a small rural community with a limited firefighting capability. The Nevada Division of Forestry (NDF) has been a partner during all phases of implementation by providing a prison workforce, equipment and expertise in fuels reduction and forestry practices.
