Minority University Research and Education Project (MUREP) Aeronautics Community & Environmental Impact Research (ACEIR): The NASA Office of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics Engagement (OSTEM) Minority University Research and Education Project (MUREP) Aeronautics Community & Environmental Impact Research (ACEIR) activity is an opportunity for Minority Serving Institutions (MSIs) to conduct interdisciplinary research into the environmental and societal impacts of future air transportation technology and infrastructure on overburdened communities through development of new practices and radical innovation. MSIs will research how future air transportation technologies impact communities and the environment, and develop equitable, safe, affordable, and accessible approaches to the future of aviation. By applying their unique perspectives, experiences, approaches, and community relationships to this area of local, regional, and national interest, MSIs will contribute to creating more equitable access and impacts across communities as well as a more equitable future of aviation for all. By engaging their faculty and students in this research, MSIs will build capacity at their institutions and contribute to increasing the diversity of the STEM workforce.
