National Dental Practice-Based Research Network Limited Competition (U19): Purpose: This FOA issued by the National Institute of Dental and Craniofacial Research (NIDCR), National Institutes of Health (NIH), is a limited competition opportunity which invites applications from the incumbent NIDCR regional practice-based research networks to establish and support a National Dental Practice-Based Research Network (NDPBRN). The NIDCR will support one National DPBRN led by a National Network Director who will be responsible for assembling the infrastructure components to support this endeavor. The main goals of the cooperative agreement funded under this FOA are to support the infrastructure and conduct of national oral health research studies in dental practices on topics of importance to practitioners, to provide evidence useful in daily patient care, and to facilitate the translation of research findings into clinical practice. Mechanism of Support. This FOA will use the NIH Research Program Cooperative Agreement (U19) award mechanism. Funds Available and Anticipated Number of Awards. The NIDCR intends to commit up to approximately $70 million in total costs to fund one cooperative agreement for up to seven years in response to this FOA.
