National Resource Center on Nutrition and Aging: ACL/AoA will hold a competition for a cooperative agreement to operate a National Resource Center on Nutrition and Aging (NRCNA). The successful awardee will provide for training, technical assistance and support to the States' Units on Aging, Area agencies on Aging and Nutrition Program providers in every State, Territory and the District of Columbia. ACL/AoA's objectives for the new cooperative agreement cycle include but are not limited to the following: 1. enhance the skills, knowledge, business acumen and sustainability of the OAA Title III nutrition and aging network and 2. increase the availability of information on OAA Title III programs and practices showing promise of successful integration of the nutrition network into the home and community based services network. The mission of the NRCNA is to equip Title III aging network organizations with timely, relevant, and high quality opportunities that build knowledge and skills among nutrition and aging professionals in a variety of roles at all levels of professional development. Additionally, the NRCNA works to enhance the OAA Title III aging network's knowledge regarding the role of nutrition services in health promotion and disease prevention, and the scientific and clinical evidence that support both healthy meals and other nutrition services.
