New Teacher Floating Workshop: The purpose this project will provide professional development for K-12 teachers to integrate knowledge of long-term monitoring, resource management, and stewardship principles into curriculum for Alaskan students. Objectives: Provide teachers a rich, inspirational immersive experience deep inside Alaska coastal parks; Provide teachers hands on training in conducting field research by connecting them with scientists doing real research in the field; Facilitate the development of lesson plans by participating teachers for use in their classroom; Provide continuing education credit for participating teachers.
