Notice of Intent: Digital Bedrock Topographic, Drift Thickness, and 3-D Surficial Geologic Maps of the Glaciated Counties of Northwestern Pennsylvania: Notice of Intent to award a cooperative agreement to the Pennsylvania Geological Survey in support of their project entitled "Digital Bedrock Topographic, Drift Thickness, and 3-D Surficial Geologic Maps of the Glaciated Counties of Northwestern Pennsylvania". The main objective of this project is to produce digital geologic maps and databases of both bedrock topography and drift thickness for the New Castle North 7.5-minute quadrangle in Lawrence County in northwestern Pennsylvania. Subsurface mapping in the glaciated part of northwestern Pennsylvania will contribute to water resources, land stability, and glacial history. As part of the Great Lakes Geologic Mapping Coalition, the Pennsylvania Geological Survey is uniquely qualified to conduct this objective.
