One -Year Rural Health Research Grant Program: The Policy-Oriented One-Year rural Health Research Grant Program provides grants to conduct and disseminate policy-relevant research on issues of national significance in the area of rural Health services. Grant recipients examine critical issues facing rural communities in their quest to secure adequate, affordable, high quality health services in areas of rural health where such research is limited. Policy-oriented rural health services research is useful because it informs policy-makers on State, local and nation levels concerned with rural health issues; and it enhances knowledge about rural health and rural health services. These grants are designed to provide support both for entities established in the rural health services research field as well as those entering this field. These grants are also intended to advance specific areas of rural health services research in which a limited amount of research exists.
