Opportunity PA-07-304: The purpose of this funding opportunity announcement (FOA) is to encourage the submission of applications for research to enhance animal stem cells as model biological systems. Innovative approaches to isolate, characterize and identify toti-potent and multi-potent stem cells from nonhuman biomedical research animal models, as well as to generate reagents and techniques to characterize and separate those stem cells from other cell types is encouraged. The total amount awarded and the number of awards will depend upon the numbers, quality, duration, and costs of the applications received. Mechanism of Support. Funds Available and Anticipated Number of Awards. Awards issued under this FOA are contingent upon the availability of funds and the submission of a sufficient number of meritorious applications.
