Planning Grants Projects: The Administration on Aging will award planning grants to States for the purpose of designing best practice models for State and Area Plans on Aging. The awards will be cooperative agreements as the Administration on Aging will be substantially involved in the development and execution of the activities of the projects. The cooperative agreement will provide for technical assistance and support to funded states (via a separate contract). The full text of the announcement includes a description of the award program, and all the instructions necessary to prepare and submit an application to compete for these project awards. Please note, AoA is requiring all applications for this announcement be submitted electronically through Grants.gov. The registration process can take 3 to 5 days to be completed. - Eligible Applicants Awards will be made to State Agencies on Aging. States are required to collaborate with at least one Area Agency on Aging (AAA) within the State. All States are eligible to apply. For States that function as a single planning and service area, applications must reflect substantial collaboration with one or more provider agency. Extensive collaboration with AAAs and provider agencies is encouraged. All State agencies on aging are encouraged to apply under this announcement. For State agencies currently developing state plans, AoA will work with individual states to insure, to the maximum extent possible, non-duplication of effort between current state plan development and this planning model, as well as considering opportunities to incorporate methods demonstrated under this announcement into the state plan development.
