Region 8 UTC Competition Re-open: US DOT seeks competitive grant applications from institutions of higher education located only in Colorado, Montana, North Dakota, South Dakota, Utah, or Wyoming to establish and operate the Region 8 University Transportation Center (UTC). A UTC must be a consortium of two or more institutions of higher education all located in CO, MT, ND, SD, UT, or WY, led by one institution of higher education, and institutions may include qualifying two-year institutions (20 U.S.C. § 1001(a)). The Center is required to obtain matching funds in an amount equal to the US DOT award amount. US DOT asks applicants to submit a Letter of Intent, as described in the Notice of Funding Opportunity, by July 5, 2023. Applicants must submit their applications for the Region 8 UTC competition via the Valid Eval online application evaluation system at https://usg.valideval.com/teams/REGION8UTCCOMPREOPEN/signup.
