Resources for Change: Technology: Resources for Change: Technology supports model projects that demonstrate technological advances that can benefit the entire arts field. The Arts Endowment anticipates awarding fewer than twenty grants, ranging from $50,000 to $200,000. All grants require a match of at least 1 to 1. This program responds to the interest of arts organizations in exploring how recent advancements in telecommunications and computer technology can help them function more effectively, involve individuals in new and more active ways with the arts, and integrate the arts more fully into their communities. The creation and/or mounting of specific works of art, productions, presentations, or exhibitions will not be funded under this program. All organizations that are interested in applying must submit a Statement of Interest that must be received at the Endowment no later than November 5, 2002. Following review of these statements, it is anticipated that no more than 50 organizations will be invited, by January 24, 2003, to submit formal applications. Formal applications must be received at the Arts Endowment no later than February 28, 2003. Please note that both the Statement of Interest and application deadlines are receipt, not postmark, deadlines. To be eligible for this category, a nonprofit, tax-exempt 501(c)(3) organization; unit of state or local government; or federally recognized tribal community or tribe must: Be tax-exempt. Organizations qualifying for this status must meet the following criteria: (1) No part of net earnings may benefit a private stockholder or individual. (2) Donations to the organization must be allowable as a charitable contribution under Section 170(c) of the Internal Revenue Code of 1954, as amended. Box 2508, Cincinnati, OH 45201; or call the IRS office listed in your area. Compensate all professional performers and related or supporting professional personnel on Arts Endowment-supported projects at no less than the prevailing minimum compensation. (This requirement is in accordance with regulations that have been issued by the Secretary of Labor in part 505 of Title 29 of the Code of Federal Regulations; part 505 does not provide information on specific compensation levels. You can link to it through the FY 2003 Grants to Organizations guidelines document on our Web site at www.arts.gov.) Assure that no part of any Arts Endowment-supported project will be performed or engaged in under working conditions which are unsanitary or hazardous or dangerous to the health and safety of the employees involved. Comply with the federal requirements that are outlined in the Assurance of Compliance section on pages 53-55 of the FY 2003 Grants to Organizations guidelines. Have a five-year history of programming prior to the Statement of Interest deadline. If not an arts organization, be working closely with at least one arts or arts-active organization that has a five-year history of programming prior to the Statement of Interest deadline. Have professional staff who can devote the time, effort, and expertise that are required to accomplish the project. Have submitted acceptable Final Report packages by the due date(s) for all Arts Endowment grant(s) previously received. An organization may submit only one application for funding under these guidelines.
