The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (Service) intends to award a cooperative agreement to Funding will be provided for the restoration of the historic St. Marks Lighthouse, located on the St. Marks National Wildlife Refuge in Wakulla County, Florida. The Lighthouse, on the National Register of Historic Sites, was transferred from the U.S. Coast Guard to the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service in 2013. At the time, there had been little maintenance performed on the structure and deterioration of the tower and keeperâ¿¿s house was evident. The U.S. Dept. of Interior requires these sites to be maintained properly. The USFWS partnered with the Friends of the St. Marks Wildlife Refuge to create a restoration strategy soon after the transfer and began working to secure grants and donations.
