Sacramento Orcutt Grass: This funding announcement is a Notice of Intent to Award (NOI): PLEASE DO NOT APPLY FOR THIS OPPORTUNITY. Federal regulations require that all funding opportunities be posted on Grants.gov. This posting is intended to comply with those regulations. This is a single source opportunity Summary: This proposal is to introduce additional populations of Sacramento Orcutt Grass on several protected sites within the Mather Core Recovery Unit of the Recovery Plan for Vernal Pool Ecosystems. Source materials for the introductions will come from the Kiefer Landfill Wetland Preserve (KLWP) which is being managed for conservation values and is monitored annually. No more than 1% of the annual population of Sacramento Orcutt Grass will be removed for inoculum. The monitoring at KLWP serves as a matching contribution of $4,000 per year for this project. Outplanting locations will be selected from Sacramento Valley Conservancy preserves, Arroyo Seco Preserve, the proposed Mather Field Wetland Preserve, and unoccupied but suitable pools on the Kiefer Landfill Wetland Preserve. Final site selection and pools to inoculate will be determined through both obtaining landowner permission and field reconnaissance this summer.
