Salmon Lake Special Recreation Management Area Trails Invasive Plant Study, Alaska: This project would study road and off-highway vehicle (OHV) trail corridors in the Salmon Lake-Kigluaik Special Recreation Management Area (SRMA) for non-native and invasive plant occurrence. The BLM manages the 290,000 acres Salmon Lake-Kigluaik SRMA, including summer motorized OHV trails and a developed campground. The eight-acre Salmon Lake Campground is located near the outflow of Salmon Lake which feeds a popular red salmon run on the Salmon River and is important to sport and subsistence fisheries. Road and trail access to the campsites and area fishing spots are likely areas for invasive plant occurrence in addition to the four miles of trail within the SRMA. Invasive plants are likely transported to these areas via vehicles, camping gear and off-road travel.
