Science Applications GPLCC TX Science Capacity: The Service will provide $55,000 to Texas Parks and Wildlife Department. This agreement is being implemented in order to build regional science capacity and resources to applied scientific work with fish, wildlife, and/or plants in the Great Plains Landscape Conservation Cooperative (GPLCC). Building core capacities through science-focused partnerships will help states to achieve performance of primary planning and science functions and strengthen their science capacity to meet LCC conservation goals and objectives. Products developed by this agreement will contribute to a regional network that will benefit all partners working within the GPLCC. States are essential partners in providing scientific expertise and technical support to inform landscape-scale conservation designs; one of the primary functions of LCCs. Another primary function of LCCs is building interdependent partnerships that help to develop applied science capacity and shared conservation goals. This agreement focuses on: 1) building core capacities through science-focused partnerships that help to ensure performance of primary planning and science functions, 2) providing scientific products and/or services related to GPLCC Priority Goals; and 3) fostering a network that makes regional solutions possible.
