Section 10 Permits Database: This grant is being provided to support the maintenance of the existing Section 10 permits database for the New Mexico Ecological Services Field Office (NMESFO), whereby New Mexico Natural Heritage will be responsible for inputting annual reports received from individuals holding an Endangered Species permit for Region 2, New Mexico. Current permitting language requires permittees to submit annual reports to the Natural Heritage program. The Natural Heritage program utilizes information present within annual reports to extract data on species observation to include in a larger database for all listed species. This database of species observations is utilized by NMESFO staff biologists to determine status of species and aids in analysis of effects to species, among other critical aspects of conducting their jobs as state and/or regional species leads.
