Senior Medicare Patrol Projects: Summary: The Administration on Aging (AoA) announced in the Federal Register on March 24, 2005 that it will hold a competition for cooperative agreement awards for model projects that demonstrate effective ways of utilizing retired persons as volunteer expert resources and educators in community efforts to combat health care error, fraud and abuse in the Medicare/Medicaid programs. The award is a cooperative agreement because the Administration on Aging will be substantially involved in the development and execution of the activities of the projects. The cooperative agreement will describe training, technical assistance and support to be provided to the projects.
