Strengthening Civil Society System (Sawt) Activity: The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) is seeking funding applications from qualified entities to implement the Strengthening Civil Society System (Sawt) Activity. The USAID/Jordan Sawt “Voice” activity aims to position Jordanian civil society to effectively represent and advocate on behalf of citizen-driven interests, while leveraging the use of digital media to enhance civic knowledge and discourse. A more active and effective civil society and better informed public will assist the Government of Jordan (GOJ) in producing policies that respond to citizen's needs, while also promoting increased trust between government institutions and those whom they govern.The purpose of the Sawt activity is to discover new ways of developing sustainable civic engagement through civil society and digital media. Successful implementation will leverage new paradigms for civic engagement, greater citizen participation, and more capable networks of organizations that constructivelyengage in advocacy, while representing the interests of citizens.
