THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR APPLICATIONS-Develop programs to enhance public use and enjoyment of Cuyahoga Valley National Park CUVA-THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR APPLICATIONS: The project will engage public support and enhance public use and enjoyment of Cuyahoga Valley National Park through a variety of programs and services that educate the public, add to the park experience, and reach a diverse community. The agreement allows the Conservancy to continue a leadership role for long-standing programs that are successful due to the community relationships and expertise that the organization has established across time. The Conservancy has operated the Cuyahoga Valley Environmental Education Center since 1993; co-managed the park's VIP program since 2009; operated Stanford House since 2010; led a capital projects program since 2014, and assumed a leadership role in arts and in-depth adult programming in 2015. Well-established relationships with community leaders and philanthropic sources allow for cost-sharing for program operations. The staff has a high level of technical expertise in program design and delivery that would be lost with a change in partner. The National Park Service (NPS) will be involved with the recipient in describing the goals, jointly developing the scope and the activities to be accomplished. NPS staff will assist in selecting projects, provide orientation to park resources, oversee assignments, teach skills, provide access to facilities and equipment, and provide technical assistance and safety training. NPS staff will provide cultural/environmental programs to the team members, including park tours, education programs, talks on the history of the park, and other similar programs and will coordinate among other NPS units in the area to provide joint educational programs and field trips to NPS and other related sites. NPS staff will provide the services of program coordinators to serve as liaison to the different program areas covered by the agreement.
