Women and Elections Radio Program: The Public Affairs Section (PAS) of the U.S. Embassy in Kabul, Afghanistan is pleased to announce an open competition for assistance awards through this Request for Grant Proposals (RFGP). PAS Kabul invites all eligible organizations to submit a proposal for a radio program to educate the Afghan public, especially women, about the 2014 elections and encourage widespread participation. Topics covered in the program should include: information on the election process with a specific focus on women (who is eligible to vote, rules and regulations about the elections, how women overcome difficulties in getting to polling stations, etc.), discussion of policy issues facing voters, and objective information about the candidates and their positions on various issues. The ultimate goal is to highlight the importance of high voter turnout - especially among women - for not only the success of the elections but the future of Afghanistan, as well as the impact of the elections on women. Priority consideration will be given to proposals that include both Pashto and Dari programming.
