Administrative History of Hampton National Historic Site: This announcement is not a request for applications. This announcement is to provide public notice of the National Park Service's intention to award a task agreement under a previously single source justified master cooperative agreement. The OAH agrees to: a) Produce an Administrative History of Hampton National Historic Site that documents the events associated with the establishment, management, as well as, ongoing issues of managing and interpreting resources, as described in the attached scope of work [Attachment A]. b) Engage an appropriate scholar (or team of scholars) to undertake the work and act as the liaison between the NPS and the scholar(s); c) Work with NPS to develop a detailed scope of work, based on Attachment A of this task agreement, for the scholar(s) to follow in order to complete the Administrative History; d) Conduct and transcribe up to 20 hours of oral histories of 10 current former National Park Service resource managers and partners to be used in research and included with final manuscript submission; e) Ensure that the manuscript is prepared as a scholarly report meeting the standards of the historical profession and the NPS through project management, including coordination of agency and peer review comments and provision of editorial services; f) Produce the final publication quality manuscript in pdf format for purposes of public internet access, plus twenty-five (25) bound, color copies for libraries, park partners, and the park. g) In addition to the complete study, the principal investigator will develop a transfer of knowledge component that highlights the research conducted as part of this study. This component may include, but not be limited to: brief web content, presentation for park interpretive and resource management staff, or brief hand-out for visitors of the park. h) Make the report available to the university community, as well as to the public more broadly, and promote the report within its professional networks so as to make the report as widely available as possible to scholars of American History, so that those scholars and teachers may use the report's findings in their teaching and writing, to the benefit of not only the scholarly community but students at many levels.
