Advanced Coal Utilization: TECHNICAL TOPIC 2 - Advanced Coal Utilization(DE-PS26-05NT42317-02)This topic explores advanced combustion techniques, as well as othersystemsand materials, that allow coal to be utilized more efficiently and morecleanlythan in currently deployed conventional systems.Coal is abundant and inexpensive compared to oil and gas. The efficientuse ofcoal is constrained by the difficulties of using a solid raw material forproducing fuel, chemicals and other feedstocks and of managing theby-productsof coal utilization (e.g. solid fuel combustion by-products includeparticulate, ash, and gaseous wastes). The results of innovative researchcould contribute to coal utilization by enabling users to handle coal withhigher levels of confidence approaching that of liquid and gaseous fuels.ALL QUESTIONS MUST BE SUBMITTED THROUGH THE ?SUBMIT QUESTION?
