Area of Interest 2: Continued Development of Direct CO2 Capture and Separation Technologies: NOTE: This descriptive area provides an overview of Area of Interest 2 only. YOU MUST READ THE FUNDING OPPORTUNITY ANNOUNCEMENT DOCUMENT FOR DETAILS ON ADDITIONAL INFORMATION, EVALUATION CRITERIA AND HOW TO PREPARE AN APPLICATION UNDER AN AREA OF INTEREST. Please scroll to the bottom of this page to access the Funding Opportunity Announcement. Area of Interest 2 - Continued Development of Direct CO2 Capture and Separation Technologies Area of Interest 2 will accept applications for technologies continuing the development of post-combustion, pre-combustion and oxy-combustion based CO2 capture. Absorption, adsorption, membrane, and oxycombustion technologies and processes are sought. The applicants should have already undergone preliminary laboratory testing and have performed a basic systems and economic analysis that validates achievement of a proof of concept status and qualitatively indicates in the technical narrative how their results translate to the potential of achieving the aforementioned Carbon Sequestration Program goals. Applicants will describe the specific technical data sought under the proposed work and how it fits into their commercialization plan for the technology. The applications selected for award will be required to develop a plan for pilot scale testing of the technology as part of an overall commercialization plan, supported by the data developed under the award.
