Because of the interagency nature of this work, it enables efficient and effective use of data across boundaries for emergencies, planning, management and operations. Research, development and coordination by top industry expertise is provided via many levels of federal, state and private monies working together to provide development, updates, maintenance and housing, and access portals of important vegetation data sets, used by wildlife officials, researchers, and the public.
