Countering Violent Extremism Small Grants Program FY2024: Funding Opportunity Number: TIRCVEFY24. The U.S. Embassy in Tirana, Albania announces an open competition for organizations to submit applications for the Countering Violent Extremism (CVE) Small Grants Program. Program Objectives: The Countering Violent Extremism small grants program, administered by the Public Affairs Section, is soliciting proposals from non-governmental organizations (NGOs) in Albania that create, develop, and foster countering and preventing violent extremism capacities and that build resilient and cohesive communities. Multi-actor approaches that bring together and coordinate the actions of central and local governments, civil society, religious communities, media, academia, private sector, and other stakeholders are encouraged. Priority areas include: • Building safe and resilient communities to counter violent extremism, including enabling individuals and communities at risk of being radicalized to redirect their lives and become contributing members of their communities. • Promoting youth activism and enhancing their life skills, such as English language skills, to enable them become activists/leaders of change in their communities in preventing and countering violent extremism. • Strengthening media professional capacities on reporting and promoting counter-extremism narratives capable of reaching target audiences

1. Eligible Applicants • Albanian not-for-profit organizations, including think tanks and civil society/non-governmental organizations that are able to respond to the NOFO, and have experience and expertise on CVE issues. • U.S. organizations and individuals are not eligible for grants under the program. • Cost sharing or matching is not required and is not part of the evaluation criteria. However, the applicants are encouraged to explore the possibility of a cost-share whenever possible. 2. Other Eligibility Requirements • In order to be eligible to receive an award, all organizations must have a Unique Entity Identifier (UEI) number issued via www.SAM.gov as well as a valid registration on www.SAM.gov. Please see Section D.3 for more information. Individuals are not required to have a UEI or be registered in SAM.gov. • Applicants are only allowed to submit one proposal per organization.
