DNA Forensic Technology Development: The project will aid development of forensic sciences in Central America, particularly DNA forensic technology for a project period not to exceed one year. These programs will provide funding to increase citizen security through development of stronger forensic programs for law enforcement in Central America, develop standard operating procedures (SOPs) to increase collection of forensic evidence at crime scenes, capacity building of laboratories, forensic scientists, and crime scene investigators, and to improve courtroom use of forensic evidence. The projects will benefit multiple countries in Central America.
