Demographic Surveillance System Support in the Republic of Mozambique under the President's Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR): This purpose of this FOA is to support primary prevention of HIV infection by expanding and evaluating confidential counseling and testing programs linked with evidence based behavioral change and building programs to reduce MTCT transmission. Activities in this FOA will also improve the care and treatment of HIV/AIDS, sexually transmitted infections and related opportunistic infections by improving STI management and enhanced laboratory diagnostic capacity. Interventions for intercurrent diseases impacting HIV infected patients including tuberculosis will also be prioritized in this FOA, as well as strengthening the capacity of Mozambique to collect and use surveillance data and manage national HIV/AIDS programs.
