Emerging CO2 Storage Technologies: Avoiding Felt Seismicity and Fluid Migration Through the Caprock: DE-FOA-00002401: Emerging CO2 Storage Technologies: Avoiding Felt Seismicity and Fluid Migration Through the Caprock Modification 2 - The purpose of this modification is to change the Submission Deadline for Full Applications, Expected Date for Selection Notification, and Expected Date for Award (see Funding Opportunity Cover Page). The intent of this Funding Opportunity Announcement is to facilitate the development of novel and/or improved tools and methods to detect and characterize faults during the site characterization phase of potential storage sites, assess the likelihood of induced seismicity due to large-scale CO2 injection, and identify, locate, and quantify unpredicted CO2/native fluid migration through the main caprock layer(s) overlying an injection reservoir. There are two anticipated Areas of Interest (AOI): AOI 1 - Fault Detection, Characterization, and Hazard Assessment AOI 2 - Monitoring for CO2 and Native Fluid Migration Through and Above the Main Caprock Layers
