Engage Native Youth through Culturally Responsive Curricula: The National Park Service and Hoonah City Schools (HCS) have been collaborating for more than twenty years on programs designed to build, strengthen, and sustain relationships between Huna Tlingit youth and their traditional homeland of Glacier Bay. The objective of this agreement is to help students become more effective culture bearers through ongoing connection fostered through rigorous curricula linked with place based opportunities, facilitate the transmission of cultural knowledge, and build career pathways for native youth at Glacier Bay National Park.
