Fort Hall Unit Water Measurement Project: This Funding Announcement is not a request for applications. This announcement is to provide public notice of the Bureau of Reclamations intention to fund the following project activities without full and open competition. It is the intent of Reclamation and the Shoshone-Bannock Tribes (Tribes) to enter into a grant agreement whereby the Tribes will install 14 measuring devices and supporting equipment on the Fort Hall Unit of the Fort Hall Reservation (Reservation), to create a joint surface water monitoring system. The anticipated benefits are to: 1) identify at the system level the quantity of surface water used; 2) improve the Tribes ability to estimate the usage of their surface water right; 3) create a baseline use quantity to monitor water use performance at the system level; and 4) aid in the overall management of Reservation surface water resources by improving conservation, improving water use accounting, and potentially providing for more water to be used on the Reservation.
