Journey to Gunaaxoo Homeland: The primary purpose of this cooperative agreement is to provide a framework for: 1) restoring trust with local communities by building and strengthening communication and relationships with the Yakutat Tlingit community; 2) enhancing relationships with the Yakutat Tlingit Tribe, a sovereign nation; 3) creating jobs for our neighbors and partners, the Yakutat Tlingit; and 4) ensuring that the connection between traditional people and their homeland is maintained. The project focuses on ongoing collaborative planning and implementation of cultural trips to the Dry Bay Preserve.
