Professional English Language Training for journalists in Kazakhstan: The U.S. Embassy to Kazakhstan plans to provide the opportunity for broadcast, print, and online journalists from at least six cities of Kazakhstan to gain skills in English language required for their professional needs. We envision holding classes in Astana, Almaty, Aktau, Karaganda, Kostanay and Shymkent, although prospective grantees may propose alternate or additional cities in their proposals. As an additional benefit, we expect the courses will help journalists in each participating city to establish good working relationships with each other and expand professional networks that they can use to share information and skills.
