Providing Access to Archival Collections of the San Francisco Maritime National Historical Park: The objective of this Task Agreement is to continue to collaborate on a project that addresses the organization and preservation of San Francisco Maritime NHP¿s Historic Documents Department collection. Such objects include historic documents, photographs, audio-visual materials, and ship plans and drawings. Collection items will be inventoried, arranged, cataloged, and re-housed where appropriate. Finding aids will be created and will be uploaded to the Online Archive of California. SFMNPA was selected because it has been cooperating with SAFR on this project since 2011 through an earlier Task Agreement and currently has experienced staff doing this type of work. SFMNPA has over a half century of history of preserving historic ships, museum collections and archives, and providing educational programs. They are uniquely qualified in programs related to maritime resource conservation and providing youth programs. By partnering with the SFMNPA, SAFR is provided with unique resources, including support from staff with knowledge of and experience with the back log catalog project. This knowledge and experience base will allow this project to be completed efficiently and successfully.
