San Joaquin Salinity Management Program: The Bureau of Reclamation (Reclamation), Mid-Pacific Region, intends to award a grant with Panoche Drainage District to implement the San Joaquin River Salinity Management Project to control and reduce the discharge of agricultural drainage water from the Grassland Drainage Area in central California. The purpose of this program is to fund activities that that will control and reduce the volume of agricultural drainage water discharged from the Grasslands Drainage Area into the surrounding area, with the goal of completely eliminating all discharges by 2014. The anticipated length of the agreement is five years. Funding for the second year is conditional upon satisfactory progress towards the overall program goals and the availability of Congressional appropriations. This agreement will be awarded through the California Bay Delta Restoration Program. See Notice of Intent to Award announcement, 09SS200025, for additional information.
