Solicitation for Grant Applications for Community-Based Job Training Grants: The Employment and Training Administration (ETA), U.S. Department of Labor (DOL), announces the availability of approximately $125 million in grant funds for Community-Based Job Training Grants. Community-Based Job Training Grants will be awarded through a competitive process to support workforce training for high-growth industries through the national system of community and technical colleges. The primary purpose of these grants is to build the capacity of community colleges to train workers to develop the skills required to succeed in (i) local industries and occupations that are expected to experience high growth and (ii) industries where demand for qualified workers is outstripping the supply. Funds will be awarded to community colleges to engage in a combination of capacity building and training activities targeted at high-growth or high-demand industries in the local economy.

- In order to be eligible for consideration under this solicitation, the applicant must be a publicly funded institution of higher education that grants associate degrees. Therefore, applicants must demonstrate that they comply with the definition of a community college in 20 USC 2371: The term community college (A) means an institution of higher education [as defined in 20 USC 1001] that provides not less than a 2-year program that is acceptable for full credit towards a bachelors degree; and (B) includes tribally controlled colleges and universities.
