Identify/Develop InterconnectMaterialsApplications are requested to identify and/or develop interconnectmaterialsfor solid oxide fuel cells (SOFCs).Desired characteristics of the interconnect material:?Must be compatible with one or more sofc cathode materials (e.g., LSM, LSForLSCF).?Must demonstrate thermal, chemical and -mechanical stability in oxidizingandreducing SOFC environments within the operating temperature range of 650degrees C to800 degrees C.?Must enable SOFC stack performance of ? 0.5 W/cm2 at 0.7 V per cell and?70%fuel utilization over a 40,000 hour stack lifetime.?Capable of withstanding hundreds of thermal cycles over the 40,000 hourstacklifetime for stationary applications.Concepts employing metallic or other alloys, surface coatings, layeredstructures or other approaches are encouraged.
