Support for Improved Linkages between TB and HIV Services, TB-HIV Monitoring, TB Infection Control in Ukraine under the President's Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR): The purpose of this program is to strengthen the control of HIV-associated Tuberculosis (TB-HIV) within the Ukrainian national TB and HIV programs through building the capacity of these programs in surveillance and monitoring, linkages between TB and HIV services, TB infection control, and reference laboratory services. These will be accomplished in two selected oblast-level regions through evaluation and improvement of provider-initiated HIV testing and counseling among TB patients and assuring links to HIV care and treatment, as well as strengthening of TB surveillance system to include HIV variables (as per WHO guidelines) in selected regions; improving intensified TB case finding among people living with HIV/AIDS (PLWHA) accessing care in selected regions and assuring linkages to TB diagnostics and treatment; and capacity building and implementation of TB infection control best practices in institutions, including out-patient settings, and providing care and treatment to PLWHA.
